How many of you guys have gotten discounts or better tkts or something just BECAUSE you're gay?

    Not as a sexual favor - that's a whole different story icon_wink.gif

But when a salesperson or anyone recognizes that you're gay and gives you a hint of some sort of advice or help because of it

I'd just come back from vacation and was looking at a 9 hour flight in Coach! icon_confused.gif
One of the Stewards came up and told me to nonchalantly walk in the back there was an empty row back there
I've gotten better Broadway show seats
    Discounts on art
Is this wrong? Should I claim this on my taxes?

Hey this gay thing works out pretty good .. if ya ask me icon_wink.gif

I always help the family out if they're looking for something in my store. As long as they're nice. I'll even walk them down to our Hi-Fi or Games store and get them a proper price. icon_smile.gif

I used to get the 'family' discount at a Blimpies here. I was friends with the staff and owners, and all of the adult employees were gay. It was a sad day when they all moved on to better jobs, for sure.

I've also gotten away without paying cover a few straight bars whos bouncers are gay.

I got a ticket on priceline only to get to the airport to find out that they had sold me a flight that didn't exist. I was scheduled to leave at 1pm and when I got to the airport at 11..well..there was no 1pm flight. So they put me on standby and after 8 hours of waiting at the Miami Airport (which is awful), I went to the counter to ask about my status on the stanby queue, there was a male flight attendant that took notice of me, went to the gate agent and got me a seat on an oversold flight...He also kept coming back during the flight to make sure I was comfortable.

    Does that count?

I was given a whole bottle of wine on a flight once by one of the stewards. The other steward was annoyed. Not sure why....maybe because it would show up missing on the inventory.

I plopped right down into First on a regional jet b/c the gate agent (family) told the flight attendant (family) to take good care of me. I was the ONLY one up in First, and my beverage was never empty the entire trip!

I just assume that it's because I'm attractive, not because I'm gay.

There is a tanning solon here that gives 15 percent off to family. Family operated. I desperately need to go back, but the twink who works there told everyone we were dating when I went to lunch with him one time. When I corrected his version of reality, he got upset.

Would be nice if I could find a new job based on the fact that I'm gay!

Sorta, but I live in Gay Central, where almost every business is gay owned or friendly. I do get little freebies, gifts or breaks, but more because of who I am, rather than what I am.

So then no, I guess maybe not? Because they don't give me things based on my being gay, since EVERYBODY is gay here?

But then I guess if I wasn't gay, but straight instead, maybe they wouldn't give me anything? But then I prolly wouldn't be living here in Gayville anyway?

    What was the question again?

Apparently i either don't act gay enough or they think I'm a bitch or unattractive or something... I have NEVER had anyone do anything because I was gay... I have been ignored a few times for it...
If someone thinks I;m with a gay person, on the other hand, they start trying to sell the person the most expensive thing in the store.

I've never really thought much about this but it does happen quite a bit: Waiters being "extra" nice; stewards bringing a perfectly stirred drink, sliced fruit and silver before a flight - closing the curtain early so others won't see; hotel personnel upgrading us to better suites; the handsome sales managers at the Polo stores giving us preferential treatment - and marking down some of the purchases - even placing extra gifts in the sacks, or putting our purchases on wood hangars in good zippered bags without being asked to do so; hunky valets leaving the car 'front and center' so we don't have to stand around waiting for it when we come out; guys - wherever you go (family that is) being absolutely wonderful in every way; cabana boys coming around later - after you swim laps - to see if there is "anything at all" you might need!.............yes, now that you mention it, there are lots of good services and freebies coming our way for being gay. Generous, friendly tipping in return never hurts either!

I rarely get the family discount. When I do get a freebie it's usually from a woman and usually because I've been polite or chatted a little.

I have a good-looking buddy who gets freebies everywhere---upgrades to first-class, free drinks from bartenders, etc. We were at a concert recently and I watched an older woman look him up and down then come over and offer us her seats because she was leaving early. We ended up in the fifth row, dead center.

I get freebies from girls.. I chats them up, make'em blush and suddenly they are giving me anything I want.. typical women no chase what so ever!

but there is one guy at a salad bar, not sure if hes gay or not, but we always chat and he always tries to serve me (hes also the owner) and he always fills my container as much as he can... ugh and hes cute too!

Yeah, cosguy, maybe you're right about the first part... not acting gay enough. (Somehow I doubt it's because you're "unattractive".)

But I've definitely noticed that, depending on my clothing, I get more attention from salespeople. That could just be because they help people who are well dressed though. Not necessaritly because they think I'm gay.icon_question.gif

Only a bunch of cologne samples when I go to a specific Macy's and the same guy is working behind the counter during my lunch break.
