I'm taking a little poetry class to get some extra units while I am traveling for research. They're horrible little poems but I figured I would share them with you all just for fun.

    Entry 1

Beautiful creature with soft silky skin,
Answer my prayers and let me have you.
Not as my muse but as my vessel.

Let me find you in your naked dreaming
Trade your dreams for my clothed intentions.

Let me tell you my stories, until you fall into them
Like a butterfly into a stream of amber

And someday who I am will harden around you,
And I will be valuable only because of you

If you choose to emerge from my embrace, I will crack
    I will die.

But if you long to feel the air on your wings,
and see the sun burn more than orangeā€¦

    Perhaps it is best

To let me shatter so that you can breath real air.

Fly free and pray for me,

    That someday someone comes along

    to love my pieces.

Major props for sharing, and for developing a strong metaphor.

I have two questions...if it's OK...the first was about the rhythm of the lines, it reads quite prosey to me (but nothing wrong with that).

The second question was about the 'vessel' in line 3. The rest of the poem casts you (the amber) as the vessel, and the object of the poem as the 'inclusion', no?
