Oh and guess what? There's no Santa Claus or Easter Bunny either!

Perhaps, but the Tooth Fairy is real.

I've had long talks with the Easter Bunny myself ... he can't stand the smell of chocolate

The Great Pumpkin isn't much of a conversationalist

    Does this never grow old?
I mean, fuck, how many times can you state the same things over and over again.
We get it. You don't believe in God and you feel that those who do believe in the imaginary are being silly.
What is the benefit of this repetition and what are you hoping to accomplish?
These threads about believers and non believers are painful and soooooo played out.
If you want to continue the debate at least bring something fresh to the table.

Oh! I mostly enjoy getting people like you to rant endlessly in return! Seriously though, I guess I'll stop posts like these when people stop posting about belief in their invisible superfriends.

Jdunn1973 why did you bother to respond if you yourself have nothing to add expect a pointless rant?
Am I supposed to pass every posting with you for some "freshness" test or something?

Lol! Ummm...request denied! Please check the US Constitution if you have any questions.

"all you want is a fight. It is obvious."

Right. You're the one dumping all over a thread that has less than 100 views. zzzzzz.....

    Something fresh?

How about someone provide one shred of evidence proving the existence of Jebus, Allah, Santa, the Easter Bunny, Zeus, or whatever else you'd like to fantasy about?

People have a right to point out the obvious. It's called common sense.

Man, when did atheists become such assholes? I am all for a good ribbing of the religious right, or laughing at the absurdity of religion. But do we have to be assholes about it gentlemen?

    "all this"..?
Ha ha. I must be missing something. Do you think you have actually presented anything?
Yes, it is a Wed afternoon and all but you can't honestly believe you have presented anything new to ponder.

This makes me think of a post by obscenewish about certainty of beliefs. It is a good read, you should check it out if you haven't already.

Hmmm, well you are what you eat!
I just get a little more than ticked off when someone doesn't like a thread and the only input is as such.
JDunn had nothing to add so he slammed me instead! Oh the humanity!

If I've presented little to ponder, you've presented even less for commenting on it.

I don't think his problem was this post, but the dozens of such posts you have made.

But personal attacks are no good. Can we just have a world-wide pansexual orgy?

Relax trance. You are right as always.

You deny the existence of God and it upsets you when people believe ... I am just not sure why that is. I can't defend anything you have listed because I don't believe in them.
The difference is that I appreciate the art and culture and literature based on belief and lack of common sense. I LOVE that shit, sorry. So how could I be mad when some of the most beautiful things I have ever seen are churches and religious art? Most people offend my most basic sensibilities , not just believers... so I suppose I understand your frustration.
You should just copy and paste at this point, though... as it has all been hashed out already and you are simply repeating yourself.

    P.s.
You have no idea what my fantasies are my friend. lol. They certainly aren't about religion or Gods or whatever else has y'alls panties in a permanent wad.

I'm sorry, did I slam you or the repetition?
I don't know you so it would be difficult to make a personal attack but your commentary has already played out more than a few times. What can be added that hasn't been already... which is why I asked what the point of this was. All I needed was clarification to avoid everyone having to repeat themselves and take up needed bandwith.
You started this thread and others like it for a reason, I am guessing.
I just want to know what the reason is at this point.
Will these threads not rest until we have a winner?

Oh I see. icon_sad.gif I just find the subject interesting as was Dawkins' succinct rejoinder.

In my defense, a perusal of topics I've posted or responded to are not exclusively or primarily even about religion or spiritualism.

Nobody seemed to want to debate the UberCuteness of Hunter Parrish!

But seriously isn't that kind of an odd question considering how most republican-palin related threads go? Seems it's acceptable to start a thread to mock sarah palin but it's not cool to start a thread questioning people over beliefs.

I do not find him to be cute. You, sir, have a debate!

I can see what JDunn is saying. Posts of this sort have a little snippet from an article or a single youtube video. If it was framed with "Oh snap! Watch Dawkins slap this guy around with his dick." It might seem less antagonistic.

Actor Jimmy Stewart palled-around with a 6-foot invisible rabbit in the 1950 movie "Harvey." Much preferable in my view to the Easter Bunny, who only leaves colored eggs and chocolates. Whereas Harvey had a penchant for martinis - my kind of hallucination.

Well, there are a few differences. Palin is topical. She is having her three months of ridicule before being banished back to the frozen tundra where she came from. God hasn't been topical since the Enlightenment.

But my question is bigger than this thread. What has happened to atheists over the last few years that make them think it is cool or witty to be a total dick to deists? First of all, that is just shooting fish in a barrel. Second, it does not further dialogue. In fact, I doubt Dawkins has had a dialogue with anything in the last decade. I am a complete atheist and can manage to be friends with a Presbyterian pastor AND be able to discuss religion.

People like Dawkins and Hitchins are as responsible as Fred Phelps for poisoning the conversation.

I am so glad to hear of a peanut butter fantasy that doesn't involve a dog.
