Not quite. All the Smithsonian facilities are free (including the National Gallery), but a few are not part of the Smithsonian complex and do charge admission, e.g. The Spy Museum, the Newseum, the Corcoran, and the Phillips.

GWriter is correct. The Smithsonian museums (including Freer Gallery, Hirshhorn, Sackler Gallery, etc.), the Holocaust Museum, and a few others are free but others aren't. In any event, don't let that discourage you from visiting DC. You will have a great time (perhaps it's even better to do DC in the winter since the museums are not as packed).

I'm looking out my window and not seeing any snow. The heat down there melted the memory part of your brain. Or maybe all that getting fucked just jostled it out of alignment. icon_razz.gif

Also, I guess those tours are ok but if you have a good map most of the tourist stuff is in or near the downtown core - you can walk or take Metro.

There isn't any snow but the weather is still pretty miserable right now.

It's very blah here right now, but I assume you're not visiting D.C. for the weather.

We do have exciting weather though. We'll go from snow warnings on Monday to 70's on Wednesday and flood warnings on Friday.

Will be in DC with the BF for the weekend at the end of February. I'm good on the tourist stuff, but anyone have an recommendations for nighttime fun? Best gay bars?
