I love this show, which also happens to be filmed here in the ATL (they pretend it's NYC for the plot), on USA Network. It's a little bit color-by-numbers (lots of predictable plot arcs) but it broadens its appeal to many audiences by doing so.
Mehcad Brooks is yummy! And a testament to great casting, as he's the ideal subject for the T.O.-style diva-drama-king wideout role. Even if you're not crazy about the show, turn the volume down and just enjoy those washboard abs! But if you do, you would be missing out on a great character role.
It's not the first time a TV show covered the possibility of a pro player coming out/dragged out (BET's The Game may have been the most recent one), but I suspect they'll do a good job with it and weave it into the layers of plotlines, something the show does very well. According to the article, the producers consulted Chris Kluwe to preview the episodes and offer his critiques/approval.
