Any RJ'ers going? This is going to be my fifth Coachella and my friends and I have opted out of camping this time. Personally I enjoy camping and feel like I may be missing part of the experience this year because I'm staying at a hotel, but not being exposed to the 100+ degree weather for the entire day does seems nice....so is having personal showers and beds and not having drunken bastards stumble into your campsite while your resting.

You guys camping or renting a hotel/house?

I'm happy with the line-up too. Last year was fun, but way too heavy in EDM...felt like I was back at EDC.

I'm going to try to hit up:

    Friday
Blur, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Modest Mouse, Tegan Sara, Of Monsters and Men, Metric, Tommy Trash, Thomas Gold, Dillon Francis, Infected Mushroom, Aesop Rock, and the Neighborhood.

    Saturday
Phoenix, Postal Service (been wanting to see them since they released their album ten years ago), New Order, Franz Ferdinand, Knife Party, Moby, Bat for Lashes, Bingo Players, Theophilius London, and Two Door Cinema Club

    Sunday
RHCP, Vampire Weekend, Eric Prydz, La Roux, James Blake, Grimes, Dinosaur Jr., Cloud Nothings, Mord Fustang, and Adrian Lux.

And I plan on ingesting irresponsible amounts of alcohol. Would be kind of fun to plan a brief RJ get together, no?

I remember arcade fire's performance. It was one of my favorite of the festival and we were lucky enough to steal some of the lit up beach balls haha

    Why aren't you going?

many factors this year, low on funds and have nobody to go with. yeah, I couldn't score one of the luminous beach balls at their show, it was a grab fest. I went to school with two of the band members in montreal before the music industry came calling. surreal to think that they've gone on to be one of the biggest rock acts in the world currently. sounds like another great lineup this year. I was surprised to hear about postal service, I thought they broke up or something on account of being soooooooooooooooooooooooo quiet.

Tickets are pricey but using the layaway system is bearable. I always just get the tickets and figure out who I'm going with after the fact...and I'll have the option of selling it for a small profit if things don't work out. And that's crazy that you went to school with them! Such a good band.

To me postal service is effectively done since they still don't have plans to release any new music and have claimed that there's a good chance they won't. They'll probably just do small shows here and there for special occassions...like Coachella for their 10 year anniversary. Shame, because their album was very influential in shaping my musical tastes.

This will be my 7th Coachella. Going with my bf and a small group of friends.

I think it's a terrific line-up, rather old-school and a refreshing selection of amazing DJs too. Last year's Sahara line-up was sub-par. I never thought I'd be bored in the Sahara tent but last year proved it was possible.

Yeah it's a little more expensive this year, but Jesus, White Party passes are $450! Now that is a rip-off!

I'd like to go this year. I'm a huge fan of 80's alternative and OMD and New Order are some of my favorite bands of that era. The lineup of current musicians seems pretty good too. It's not as good as last years though.

Somehow it's worked out that I go to every other year of Coachella.
