Day #2 snowed in thanks to that angry clownfish. I decide to entertain myself with some videogamery when all of a sudden.....BAM.....Red Screen of Death. It takes a minute for my eyes to navigate through the various languages to identify the English: "A Serious Error Has Ocurred." So I try unplugging, rebooting, and all that jazz. No luck. Tech support tells me it's $99 to fix. Not that I care that much about the price, but couldn't you have kicked the bucket when I wasn't snowed in PS3? Oh well, guess it's time to crack into that DVR and catch up on some reading.

With intimate knowledge of the situation, all I can say is get it fixed.

The 720 won't be out until this fall.

In general, putting it on a shelf where it can't cool itself leads to this and similar problems. Graphics horsepower generates heat. Trapped heat leads to early failure.

That sucks! I'm on my 3rd one. I found that the earlier models were prone to overheating with long use. I can use my latest one all day long without any problems.

    That sucks.

I've rarely had problems with my PS3. (I never even heard about this "red screen of death" before this).

Once you clean out your dvr, and catch up on your reading, maybe try digging up some older gaming consoles if you have them. I love digging up old consoles and reliving my favorite games.
