Planking

    Just curious to know how long some of you can hold a plank position. Its funny to think that such a simple looking position cause do so much to you body

    wow, if that image is accurate, then I'm in the stud category... NICE lol I didn't think a little over a minute was impressive, but I guess it is!

    I just started doing this so I'm only doing a count of 60 at a time, but definitely do fill the burn so am making it part of my routines

    i can hold it for 130-140 seconds... but i want to reach to 5 min its an crazy idea lol... plank is for Core Strength, Stability, and Rock-Hard Abs

    Hard to compare.
    For obvious reasons, the taller and heavier you are, the more difficult.

    It's just like guys comparing pull up numbers. Not the same when you weight 200lbs or 130lbs, no matter how fit you are, weight is weight.

    usually around 2 minutes, sometimes more than 3 - I kept up a plank for nearly 5 minutes to impress a Personal trainer once.. icon_redface.gif..

    Bad idea.. it wasnt worth it ;)

    I would have said 2005 in terms of gaining popularity, maybe much earlier.

    I think its roots are in yoga?
