    Hey, all.

So I was wondering if people go to gay prides solo at all? I'm down in Florida now, which is turning out to be more long term than I thought, so I'm trying to find ways to get out if the house more. However, I don't really know too many people down here.

Have you ever gone solo? Did you find a roommate to save on hotel costs (perhaps thru this forum)? Any advice would be helpful. I saw that Miami Pride competition thread and I thought I might look for ways to just go a couple hours south for a weekend ;P

You will make new friends fast if you go solo.

Up in MN I volunteered at the events instead of going alone. I have to say it was interesting but wasn't that amazing. I guess it all depends on who you got to work with (one day I got paired with this really bitchy lesbian). I did walk around a bit to all the booths but it going boring pretty quickly haha.

It's a good place to go solo. If you want to meet people, you won't be solo for long. Everyone's looking to have fun and in a celebratory mood.

I've met a few boyfriends at gay pride parties.

I was out with my friend this previous year at NYC pride but she had to split early in the afternoon, and I was out by myself. Everyone was in pretty good spirits though, and I found myself making friends on the street.

    Do it.
