it was the best Grammys in a long time...classy not trashy

finally a return to rock after several years of crappy hip hop/rap/mindless pop dominating.

highlights were Fun's performance, Bruno Mars/Sting/Ziggy/Rhianna and the ensemble performance of The Weight, love Mavis Staples on that.

Gotye was the right choice for record of the year and Fun for song of the year and best new artist.

Carrie Underwood really hit that high note

loved seeing Prince but he should have performed

Great wins by Frank, Gotye, Miguel, and Mumford & Sons. Oooh, Janelle Monae, too.

also, how about lesbian folk singer Janis Ian winning Best Spoken Word album (over nominees Michelle Obama, Rachel Maddow, Ellen DeGeneres, and Bill Clinton)? Society's Child seems to be a good read, I'll have to get the bio.

I loved the song dedicated to Sandy Hook, it was a great collaboration between the artists.

I love me some Carrie Underwood and Hunter Hayes, also a great combo.

I havent looked at the winners yet. But if that happened I love it. That category is never won by someone who isnt a politician. Its refreshing to see someone else win it for a change.

    I loved Kelly Clarkson's speech.

no, not at all. I think it's because the Grammys only recognize English-Language songs/artists/singles. The only thing that resemble Gangnam Style nominations might be under *Best Dance Recording or Best Asian/International artist? But I think largely because of the Korean lyrics, Psy got shut out. I'd vote for it under Dance recording if I'm a member in the Grammys. icon_cool.gif

You know what happened right, Frank Ocean and Chris Brown got into it over a parking spot at a club in West Hollywood and apparently Chris called Frank the F**g** word. Oh snap !!!! Urg, I don't like Chris Brown, he's so annoying. icon_rolleyes.gif

The language doesnt matter as long as its released in the US. It probably wouldnt be accepted in dance. It would go to pop performance. However, its rare novelty songs win.

Wow, kind of shocked to see people enjoyed Fun. I thought the song they played was boring, but maybe it deserves a second listen.

I usually don't like awards shows but the Grammy's were awesome!! Great music.. loved the Bob Marley and Band tributes. Justin Timberlake, overrated as usual but a great performance. Rooted for Gotye, deserved to win! Music was very good, not that trashy hip hop shit that seemed to take over the early 2000s. Adele was large and in charge. I think she would be an awesome fag hag. No Lady Gaga (at least not the part I was watching) is a good thing.. sorry she's pretty annoying. Rihanna has the best female voice out of all of them IMO.

Not listening to the radio anymore I've realized I'm totally out of touch with music these days.

Did Christina Aguilera miss the deadline or something? I feel like she should have been nominated, even though Lotus was not her best album it was still vocally miles a head of anything Katy or Rihanna have done.

This was the first year I actually had a rooting interest for Album of the Year. I have 4 of the 5 and I wouldn't have any quarrel with any of them had they won.

Black Keys "El Camino" is awesome and probably should have won.

Mumford & Sons "Babel" is almost equally awesome.

Jack White "Blunderbuss" is great, and he tore the Grammy's a new one last night (in the best possible way). His performance was terrific.

Frank Ocean "Channel Orange". this type of music is generally not my cup of tea, but in support of the team, I've been giving it a try. It's good, but I think I passed the demographic for this a while back.

Fun- they're OK I guess, but I don't listen to this kind of music anymore, so there were probably a few albums that could have easily taken the place of this on the list.
