I ended up watching Biden and Palin on CNN afterwards. Palin's veneer is wearing thin. By election time she'll be raw.

We won't be seeing any more of Palin in terms of national TV exposure. Sure, she'll show up at some rallies, but there's absolutely no way they'll let her do another solo network television interview (except with perhaps the like of Sean Hannity who will lob softballs and provide all the questions -- and probably answers -- in advance). The stakes are too big for her to look as ill-prepared for leadership as she did in her sitdowns with Gibson and Couric.

She made it through the debates. They're going to keep her in the background now.

Remember guys: the election in Canada happens in two languages. The Leader's French Language Debate was on Wednesday Oct. 1st, and the English Language debate was Thursday, Oct. 2nd.

According to the overnight ratings that I saw; about 40 % of Canadians watched the US Vice Presidential Debate, and about 25% of Canadians watched the Leaders' English language Debate.

"You Sir, had an option" is the great quote from the 1984 English Language debate.

I missed the debates since I was strolling around Venice absorbing the sites before leaving the next day. Supposedly the economy was a big topic since it is starting to slow down much quicker than expected north of the border.

Dion was a poor choice by the Liberals for leader but it looks like the Conservatives may not get their majority according to trends.

I voted yesterday to get it out of the way. I hate waiting for election day, especially when it is the day after a long weekend, and I have to give a 8-12 vials of blood to science in the morning.

When you Canuck neighbors come out to play, you remind me of that lad from London, ON who spurned my advances so long ago ...

As a result of him it seems I think of Canadians as un-doable but still tempting treats ... like Eskimo Pies in a locked freezer.
