So recently, my facebook wall has been plagued with status updates about The Walking Dead and zombie apocalypse business. These zombies seem to be eating a lot of human flesh and not getting fatter...so are they pooping? Is there some zombie cross fit class going on off camera? Seriously, they might be un-dead but the laws of physics still apply. Your thoughts..

They make those undead moans because they're hungry yet constipated, like Paula Dean... Wait, what's the topic again???

Necrotised digestive systems and constant instinct to eat more brains I think not, but this is technically my zombie profile, icgasl.

Well...you'd think, since they EAT, that they would poop. icon_confused.gif
Of course, you only technically need to eat if you're alive so...?

Their body ceased function, so no digestive system. The only part of the brain that "stays alive" simply allows them to walk and to possess a desire for flesh.

^ I agree. Unless they have a hole in their digestive tracts in which case it would fall out along the way.

I bet zombies don't stop to poop, they just do it on the fly, like horses.

This appears to be a very crucial topic.

Well, they could resort to the more primitive two-way digestive tract, like anemones and jellyfish and such. Of course, it would be vitally important to know, because if this is the case, they could projectile-vomit the digested brain material at you.

My theory is that they can't digest so they don't poop; instead they make themselves throw up to keep those faaaaabulous figures and make room for more flesh.

I thought zombies eat brains. Well, the brain is a lean protein. Plus, do you see a lot of carbs going on there? Zombies are totes paleo.
