Two of them messaged me today! Is anyone else noticing this recently? Blocking doesn't seem to stop them either (another program will just message you again).

If you don't know what a bot is... basically its a program that responds to messages automatically and eventually leads you to some stupid link / cam / virus.

I don't think they're bots. I think they're actual people, paid to troll social websites/apps for clicks. Every time someone clicks on their link, they get paid.

Based on previous threads here, I'd say a handful of guys fall for it. Not everyone is keen on all the internet scams out there.

    Maybe they're not?
Back in the days of myspace i had to convince several people that my account was real. Flattering in a way I suppose, but annoying at the same time lol.

They are, because they always pester you to visit some link or some stupid shit. The bots respond to special keywords. Like the one today when I asked "are you a bot?" responds with "whats a bot?" haha

Don't know about bots, but I have gotten a bunch of guys that are 8000 miles away or more messaging me. Thats' kind of weird.

ok that last guy 8000 miles away just hit me up for a website. I blocked him 4 times but he somehow keeps getting through. I don't think he is a bot, just some guy being paid to spam.

Grindr will have to fix this if they want to keep their members.

That's a bot... why would you pay someone to do something you can write a program to do easily? He's getting through I presume because its not the same account whispering you.

When I get a message from some random user over a 1000 miles away that says "hey, hunk", it's so obvious what is up. I'm no dog and think I'm pretty decent looking, but nowhere close to being a hunk. Anyone who falls for it must be pretty lonely.

I've had friends in several states send me screen shots of differently least 10 bots using pictures that I've only posted on rj... So whoever is making these bots is taking pics from this site.
