Once and for all answering the question, "Which happens first... Mississippi legislatively bans abortion clinics, or legislatively bans slavery?" icon_lol.gif

But America does not seem to be big on referendums, it seems they rather go though the courts, and thats not the voice of the people either; only of a few.

Read up on Loving vs Virginia, so you can understand why a referendum is not always a good thing.

Wow, you are clueless. They are usually called "propositions" and really clog up the ballots for general elections. Most are timed with other elections (that's me just basing it on advertising that I see on US television) rather than separate plebiscites as they would be in Oz of Canada.

Wait just one second. I just ordered me a couple of slaves from Mississippi. Dammit, does this mean I have to go pick them up myself? I'm a bit confused.

"One hundred forty-eight years after three-fourths of the states voted to approve the amendment, Mississippi's legislature finally took steps to fix the glaring oversight last month."

    oversight or underhanded slight?

But if you leave it as Mexico then each wave lapping the shore is an immigrations violation.

I wonder what New Mexico has to say about that?

I won't claim to know more than I do about being a Southerner, but watch SCETV the last few months, I've realized just how much the rest of the country doesn't understand about the South.
Wish I was at a computer. There's an owl meme on FB that said something like, "be kind to difficult people, they need it the most." Its hard, but they're not aliens, monsters, or terrorist.

That, or we can rename the gulf to be the Gulf of New Mexico. I'm sure Texas will be more than happy to part with some shoreline. This will confuse the hell out of Mississippi.

Or we really pissoffmississippi and rename it the Gulf of Central America.
