It always makes me laugh when people leave up their decorations until July ...or year around. I was driving a saw a house with the blow type of decorations that light up at night ... I do wonder why people don't take them down .. several things come to mind ... too stoned ... got injured ... something traumatic happened that keeps them from the motivation to take them down icon_confused.gif

Agreed.. best time to get everything down. Most have all down here, except a neighbor or two that still have lights up on their houses (not turned on of course). We do have a covenant that states that all Christmas lights have to be down by March 1st. We'll see if that happens!

Bah. I think I had some candles burning around the tub. They destroyed themselves the same night.

The sister-in-law once wove a bunch of obnoxious lights into the fence as part of a display. I got a letter from the planning commission stating that decorative lights are only allowed for two weeks, and I could be subject to a fine. It had nothing to do with me, but they don't like me very much down there.

Lots of people leave lights woven into big trees all year round and light them up for parties and such. Including all of the big trees in the park in town. It really has nothing to do with xmas any more.

I'm still planning to make some obscene snowmen next time we have a decent snow cover. We'll see what those bitches at the planning commission have to say about that... Hey, who's a good sculptor?

I walked by a house yesterday with a big brown christmas tree in the front window, dead as can be. They must be hardcore xmas people.

Why should they waste their Easter vacation taking down Christmas decorations?

Before the judgement, you really need to think what that family could be going through. My mom and I finally got the xmas tree down last weekend. The reason that it's so late is that she's been at the hospital every day with my dad since mid December with pancreatic cancer, and the last thing she wants to do is think about taking down the decorations..

My Dad leaves the lights up year round and gets seriously pissed when he goes to plug them back in and most of them don't work.

It's one of my pet peeves; sometimes you just need to offer some neighborly assistance.
