"Vandals attacked at least 25 homes in Toronto this weekend, cutting off phones and cable lines, spray-painting property and cutting brake lines on a number of vehicles.

All the homes had a sign on their front lawn that showed their support for the Liberal party, political officials said."

"Liberal MP Carolyn Bennett, who represents the St. Paul's riding where the vandalism occurred Friday night, posted a note on her blog condemning the "life-threatening" acts.

"I was sickened to hear today about several acts of vandalism involving cutting the brake lines on the cars of Liberal supporters in my riding," she wrote on Saturday. "This dangerous threat to our democracy must stop." "

    VIOLENCE AND LAWLESSNESS SPREADS!!!!

Woman in custody after crashing vehicle through doors of P.E.I. Supreme Court

"Witnesses say the woman rammed the vehicle through the doors, backed up and drove through again, backed up again and drove through. By the time police arrived on the scene the woman had backed up a fourth time and rammed the car through the doors, this time ending up inside the building."

I like the last cat especially! It is a sad state of affairs when people's rights to support a particular political party are attacked. Spray painting somebody's house is one thing, but cutting a car's brake lines? That is going to far.

That's why we never put Election signs on our lawn. Plus I don't really like everyone to know my political affiliation..

And then i'm usually not sure until i'm in the booth and I got with my gut icon_razz.gif either Liberal or NDP usually.

Just cause you pussies need a big long 3 year election doesn't give you the right to mock our election! It's not about the size of your election, it's how you use it that matters.

Since it was homes in Toronto I doubt it had much to do with politics. Probably just a liberal neighbourhood and some drunk/stoned stupid young punks. If it happened any other time it wouldn't have registered on papers outside toronto.

We only wish our elections were so interesting.

It's a good thing too, cause that's what you got. Reminds me of that Deep Thought, by Jack Handy:

"They say that God is in all of us. If that's true, I sure hope he likes enchiladas, cause that's what he's going to get."

No doubt some group of Bloc separtists kids with nothing better to do than target the liberal middle class enclaves of Toronto....

this happened recently in my sister's area, thankfully her vehicles werent hit, spray paint is one thing, cutting brakes is criminal and should be dealt with as such.

But radical Bloc people in Toronto? Not very probable. If they're separtists they're not chilling out in Ontario.

It could be the NDP since they are competing for the Liberal voters. I have met some pretty militant NDP voters in my day. Full of self-righteousness, similar to the Reform party except they are socialists.

The latest polls indicate that the Conservatives are starting to suffer collateral damage from the economic woes. They were up to 40% less than 2 weeks ago, and are now in the low 30s.

Can you really believe that serious supports of a party did this and it isnt just hooligans that picked the Liberal Party signs as a theme for their mischief?

Goodness gracious... those crazy Canucks! Madness and mayhem capable of rocking the world media and public peace. Alas!

But really, it's a trifling matter for anyone who was witness to the volitilty of the seventies and early eighties in Quebec---seriously.

Just this afternoon I noticed that one of the placards affixed to a lamp-post had Bloc leader Duceppe's face carefully carved out of it, leaving only a silver wig to vote for. Was this a savage act of revenge? or intimidation? Those Ontario lads, lager-louts the lot of 'em!

Not serious supporters, just seriously crazy supporters. I am not sure why hooligans would pick on only the Liberals. Why not the Conservatives who are in power? Does not make sense. There is something else going on that we are not aware of. Now people are getting threatening or obscene phone calls. Very strange.
