January 2013 it generated less than $8 million! That was the final nail. Estimated monthly nut is $25 million.

I read today that it was sold for just $110 million, pennies on the dollar. The new owners plan to give it another go as a casino; not sure what they think they can do differently.

Meanwhile, Taj Mahal is possibly closing next month, and Trump is suing to get his name off the remaining properties.

Trump might do better to get the Trump name off himself. icon_razz.gif

No great loss. Trump plaza closed already. I stopped in both when I was in AC last month. They were two of the dirtiest, nastiest casinos that I've ever seen. I didn't want to touch anything let alone play a machine!

From what I understand the Donald only owns about 10% of the casinos now. He probably wants his name taken off because they are such dumps....

That is exactly why; he observed the same thing.

Yeah he only owned 10% for quite some time and most of his other buildings the same - basically a licensing fee he charges. Of course he wants everyone to think he is sole or majority owner. When times were good he loved his name on there, now not so much. I'm glad they are coming down. Hopefully AC is rid of his ego forever. Let NYC have it.

Revel sold on Oct 1, 2014 to Brookfield Asset Mgmt of Canada for $110M. They intend to reopen it as a casino. Might work with the much much lower indebtedness...
