so with the market tanking, this is looking like a great time to invest in some stocks because things are so "cheap". i currently have my 401k and a couple of stocks but i want to expand my portfolio. for those that invest in the market, what are some of ur thoughts around things i should look to invest in?

I would read up on what experts are saying on CNBC, the Financial Times, etc., or talk to a financial advisor that you trust. I have my own investment strategies based on my risk tolerance and long-term view of the market. I do know of someone at work today whose husband sold in a panic in the morning. I kept my lips sealed, thinking "that is a classic mistake made by investors".
