There needs to be more support of gay marriage in the GOP. This is a major step in the right direction. I would have voted for Mitt Romney if he would have chosen Jon Huntsman as his running mate.

I think it's cumin. At the grassroots level, it hasn't been an issue for a very long time .... keeping in mind that I've either been in SoCal or a very tolerant northern Midwest state/city (you're results may be different). And as I said in the other thread, I'm as much 'trouble' there within the republican ranks as I am here on RJ. RJ Jeff summed it up pretty accurately when he called me a contrarian. I give them pause for thought because I'm more in the far right wing of the Republican party on many issues except this one so I have unimpeachable republican credentials. Folks listen to me within the party. Kinda the same thing when Dick Cheney mostly came out for marriage during the VP debate in 2000. He created lots of very open discussion and that's very good for the party. As he did below in 2009.

Clearly someone who bucks the trend in the ridiculous republican "time mind warp". I've respected many of his comments, his approach and carefully considered comments. The GOP might have gone much further with a sincere candidate!

    Ho hum.
    He's a little late.
That's almost up there with the state of Mississippi abolishing slavery, recently.

Agreed. It was refreshing to see him in the republican primary debates.
