I have started noticing lately that my beard is getting blonder with time.
How many of you guys noticed your facial hair / head hair color changing with time, not taking into consideration greying / whitening. i.e. how many of you guys noticed your hair / beard getting darker or blonder with time?
    Is it common?

Impossible for me to ignore, my beard is streaked with white but I've only got a few gray hairs on my head.

    Otherwise, they're the same color.

I have dark dirty blond on my head with very little grey. My beard is a different story, I have brown, white, blond, red and grey in my beard. It's like I have my own Benetton Ad on my face. (the grey is starting to win and take over complete control, eh)

It's not unusual for the color of your body hair and facial hair to be slightly different from the hair on your head. My hair is primarily black, but I definitely notice that the hair on my arms and legs is a lighter shade of brown.

I've seen quite a few gingers and blonds whose beards are a considerably different shade from the hair on their head.

My chin hairs and mustache hairs are much lighter. my hair is brown and most of my facial hair is also brown. It's just the chin part of my beard and the mustache that never really got that same color. Although I think it has darkened somewhat in the past few years. Most of the hair in those places still hasn't darkened to become brown, and I'm 24. icon_confused.gif

I have all these rust red and dark blonde undertones in my beard now, more and more as time passes. I'm not a fan, my head hair is dark almost black brown.

My beard has pretty much EVERY colour in it. It's blonder than the rest of my hair, overall. Seems to be fairly common, particularly with Northern/Western European stock.

    Hair - dark brown
    Sideburns - white
    Beard - calico

    I began to develop "white-walls" at age 35 icon_confused.gif

Before the gray came in my 50s my beard was jet black, my hair dark brown. Now my beard is almost totally white, my hair salt & pepper.

Exactly this. Except gray started sprinkling in with the beard. And then the hair. Recently and right on schedule I went gray at the temples like you see in old movies, which is noticable if I let my sideburns grow long enough. It's a bit disconcerting, like a young guy made to look old with stage makeup.

Any man you see that you suspect is over the age of 40 whose hair and beard match perfectly with nary a gray hair is touching one or both up. You can always spot it because it always looks "off" - think Chuck Norris. It's never convincing.

I see red-brownish strands every now and then on my beard. Nonetheless, my beard is still jet black 98% of the time.

+1 .... my beard nearest my chin turned more red as I got older and then it was the red hairs that gray first.

I find this thread highly offensive to those of use without facial hair capabilities.

I used to have a goatee but I shaved it off, it started getting blonde and white and wouldn't accept dye.

The middle of my goatee is light blonde whereas the outside is dirty blonde/brown. My hair was similar but less noticeable until I went bald, then the blonde fine colorless stuff started dominating. In fact, I still have all my hair in the back, but the color is such that it's fine blonde with a brown circle crown that feels like a weaker texture than the darker stuff.

My hair is naturally a brownish-blond colour (I hate the term "Dirty Blond"). Anyway, I grew a mustache and (sort of a) beard in my mid-twenties for a short while and they came in that orangey-red colour! Facial hair didn't really suit me so that was an experiment never repeated.

My beard is both darker AND lighter than my hair color. It's really blonde under my lips and really dark everywhere else.
