Heroin, Meth, Crack cocaine, or large doses of opiates or cocaine. Around that ballpark.

I used to be a Coke/Speed/E/Acid/Shroom/Weed fiend, tried Meth once or twice, never touched needles.

Having managed the biggest club in Western Australia, I'd seen what these drugs had done to some of the regular patrons. At first I thought to myself 'Nah, I'll never end up like them, I can stop any time' and believed it.

My wakeup call came soon after a close friend ran through a glass door while a few of us were tripping on Acid and severed his (brachial?) artery, almost bleeding out on the lawn.

All of us were too fucked off our faces to actually do anything and it took his 13 year old daughter actually calling the ambulance for anything to happen.

It was then I took a hard look at what drug use had done to myself and my friends, it also made me think about the other dumb shit we did while off our nuts.

So, I moved back in with the olds, and took over the responsibility of looking after mum, who was undergoing treatment or breast cancer. Which (sounds weird) was what I needed at the time.

Anywho, been drug free now for 12 months, apart from the occasional joint. And enjoy a much clearer head, healthier body and enjoyable social life.

to answer the question: the only substance i have a problem with is sugar.

oh, and aveda products. i think i almost incapacitated myself with their handcream. i just love it.

Never been around them, pretty foreign to me.

For anyone really involved with drugs to a serious degree... I probably wouldn't be comfortable (or have any understanding that that matter) with
    those who enjoy using drugs.

After living in DC, Baltimore, and Philly, I surprisingly have never tried anything hard like that. There have been plenty of times when I have been around some crazy stuff, but I just know that I don't have to do that crap.

had problems but not because I used them but because one of my ex boyfriends had a drug problem, so it was pretty messy. Last I heard he wasn't too well.icon_cry.gif

So nearly everyone i used to work with at my old job was in or had finished treatment
And i loved all of them- they had such fascinating stories and taught me so much-ill never go near any kind of drug because of them

Don't think that "street drugs" are the only hard drugs. Prescription drugs are just as, if not more, dangerous, because many people who abuse them do so with a doctor's prescription. My mother is a prime example: my stepfather was a ragingly viscious alcoholic who used to beat Mom and me up when he was drunk. I was about 12 years old when he moved in and this started. Anyway, one night he went so far as to actually, with his bare hands, break Mom's neck. Wel, she survived, but was never the same. The pain it caused her practicallly rendered her an invalid, and by the time I was 16, he had left, and I was Mom's sole caregiver, which mostly meant taking care of her personal needs, helping her to move about physically, cleaning-up after her body when she would lose control of her functions, and getting her to the ER on the many occasions when she would overdose on her pain pills. The doctors knew what she was doing, and never lifted a finger to stop her.
Finally, many years and many drugs later, she died of an overdose at the age of 70, in 1996.

Me, all I've ever done is smoke pot. I don't even smoke cigarettes or drink coffee, and NEVER drink hard liquor or beer. I do drink white wine. Years ago, in my late teens/early 20's, I tried cocaine a couple of times, and once I tried mushrooms. Never again will I do those things, although I do favor complete legalization of marijuana.

My AIDS doctors have told me that marijuana should not even be thought of as a drug, more of a medicinal herb or natural plant medicine.

I have had a number of friends who have, in their middle years, gotten addicted to methamphetamine, and a more insidious drug I can't imagine. Here in the Antelope Valley it's very popular, as wll as in the Gay community. I see a lot of sex ads on the internet asking for guys who PnP (Party and Play) which is code for using meth during sex or a hookup. I've even seen a lot of the guys at the Gay gyms and spas using it, and I never go near them.

Probably a good thing that I get all the bad side effects without the benefits
so no ... I've never had a problem

But have met many men along the way you have

Yeah, I was in Delray last year. Why have that many rehab centers located there? The line at Starbucks was an eyef opener.

Maybe for you, but not for me. It not only allows me to function on an even keel emotionally, but allows me to concentrate on my computer work for MUCH longer periods of time without either distraction or my temper flaring up. It also does a wonderful job of killing most of the side effects of the AIDS drugs I take.

It doesn't make me feel or act stupid.
