So...I've been pretty good at maintaining a healthy lifestyle lately, but I've been thinking a lot lately on "cleaning out the pipes" so to speak. Tomorrow I'm going to go pick up a body/colon detox kit at the local Organic shop. I'll assume at least one guy here has tried a body detox program...any advice for a beginner? Should I choose a quick 2 day program or a 10 day or a 30 day program?

I hear they are incredible for boosting metabolism and energy etc.

    Cheers,

    Steve

Save some dough. Do a 3 day apple diet.

I think the big advantage to this diet is that the toxins that are released are absorbed and flushed from the system do to the high fiber. Water does not seem to have the scrubbing action necessary to clean out things.

Don't go for colon hydrotherapy. I read even if they use new unwrapped equipment the machine may not be cleaned after each use. People have gotten parasites and other unwanted bacteria. Some people swear by em.

Johnny Knoxville, from jack-ass, dressed up like Santa Claus and went for one. That was funny!!

    "incredible" is the correct word.

    Look it up.

I've had a colonic a few times. The good machines have a window where you can see what is being removed. Its pretty amazing how old and hard some of the impacted shit looks. You will lose some weight for sure.

how many times do you need to do it to get rid of everything? Would once or twice be enough?

Why go to all the bother of colonic irrigation when a simple laxative can accomplish the same thing? I had to do a laxative clean-out before my colonoscopy, and the pictures and video from it showed a squeaky clean tube of pink meat. If there was anything impacted back there, it sure as hell didn't survive that laxative solution.

If you maintain a high fiber diet, then a regular power dump should clean you out enough.
