Does anyone know where to find out the formula to figure out what my target heart rate should be during cardio work. I'm wanting to burn fat not muscle. Thanks

    Hi Mate

    Here you go

Formula is 220 - your age = maximum heat Rate

When exercising you should try to stick to between 60% and 80% of your maximum heart rate. (in your case 106-142).

    Fat burning is 60% - 70% (106-124).

    Aerobic is higher.

    or go here

for fat burning it 180-your age, will give you the most effective hr, however, these are just formulas. one formula doesn't fit all.

if you gym has a anaerobic threshold test "new leaf", that will be your best number to work, because it's "your" number.
