Rounding Cape Horn by sail in 1929 on one of the last of the old windjammers. It's half an hour, but I couldn't look away. Insane aerial work with no net!
I don't know how big a movie camera was in 1929, but even more implicitly amazing is that the narrator did these 17-story rope climbs in a raging storm while carrying one. The one shot where he is in the frame, you can see that the kid had some amazing arms on him, for the day. Heck, for any day.

Thanks for sharing that clip. Fascinating to watch what it took to keep that beautiful vessel on course.

I'll certainly think about those sailors before grumbling about a bad day at work again.

Yeah, but I'll bet that your gym doesn't have a dog trained to bite the slowest one in the class.

Yeah, I didn't like the way they treated the poor dog. "Had never been petting in his life". He also said the captain would hit the dog daily just because. Asshole.

The theory used to be more common. Especially for working dogs. My great-grandad used to get mad at great grandma for "making pets out of the livestock." (mostly the horses.) In Jr. High, the coach would line us all up every friday and run along with his belt to give everyone a smack "for whatever he didn't catch us doing."

Ah, too bad they took down the video. I'd pay for a copy, but maybe not $30. They ought to at least put up a two-minute trailer, to drive sales.
