Does Creatine time matter?

Does when I take Creatine with respect to my workout matter? I think I've read that the best window is before and after workout.

The reason I ask is that I work out after work, and Creatine makes me urinate a lot more. When I take it at night after I work out, I'm peeing all night. I'd prefer to take it in the morning.

Does it do this for anyone else?

    Short answer: No.

Long answer: Creatine has to build up in your system to begin with. The time you take it with respect to your workouts is a non-issue.

    This hasn't been proven...No...You don't need to time your creatine usage....Once a day...1 teaspoon.

You need to take at least 25 grams (easy to do in powder form) if you want results. Cycle off.

Not specifically for creatine. You usually have to load for a few days to a week then maintain a daily dose, irrespective f a workout, for a period f time, then cycle off. The timeline depends on the type of creatine, and should be on the label.

Remember to drink lots of water with creatine too!

Watch what's mixed in with the creatine. Mine has both a diuretic and a thermogenic and your's may, too. Both can make you feel like you need to pee and they can keep you awake. Try finding a good supplement shop where the owner is present. It costs a bit more than buying on-line but I value being able to Q&A him about what I'm getting, wanting, and liking/not liking about what I'm taking.

When I took creatine, it was always before workouts. It's more likely to make it to your muscles and utilized more efficiently. Taking it any other time, you're basically pissing it away. I don't have any science to back that up. But I've had positive results. It may or may not work for others. Only way to find out is to try.

As others said, it doesn't matter. And there's no need to cycle.
Cheapest creatine monohydrate, with no other ingredients, is all you need.

Thanks I'll take a look. It really makes me pee and fast so I'm wondering if may there is a diuretic in mine. I want to say that my brand at home is Optimal Nutrition.

I'm going to just start taking it in the morning when I get to work.

This is totally incorrect. Creatine is naturally abundant in your body and it is not really known whether loading is necessary or not.

Timing might matter, seeing as how creatine increases the production of ATP in your body. If you take it before your workout it should in theory increase your energy and ability to pump. This is why its a common ingredient in pre-workout supplements. Taking it after likewise would give you energy post-workout so you aren't tired. This is me theory crafting based on my knowledge of creatine (complements of my biochem professor)
