Not sure where this topic should go.

I am writing my Canadian Citizenship Test today! This will determine whether I can become a citizen in Canada. Wish me luck.

If you are Canadian, try this quiz and see how well you know your country. You need to get 15 out of 20 questions right to pass.

Update [Feb 28]: Did my test yesterday, everything went well. Although they can't give me the score or result, I am pretty confident that I passed. Thanks for all the good wishes. I am one step closer to running for the Prime Minister in Canada... (j/k).

Im not Canadian, but I got a 50% out of the 20 questions asked in English, assuming I lived in British Columbia.

Got 'em all correct but one, what are the 5 regions called. Territories & Maritimes always confuse me. I took the test for Manitoba, since I lived near there for many years, often going to Winnipeg. Other than that, I'm eligible for citizenship. icon_biggrin.gif

But you're the Queen of Wilton Manors. You could never abandon your people. Leave Canada to the Canadians.

19 out of 20. I grew up 40 miles from Canada and spent a lot of time there, so that test was easy. Now give me my Canadian citizenship papers already!

90% - I have to say some of those questions are very hard.
Who cares who the mayor of Richmond BC is? Why is that on a citizenship test?

True, but actually I can have both, since half of Quebec spends most of their winters down here anyway. icon_biggrin.gif

yay perfect score. but i'm an uber geek, and luckily eidetic memory for those sappy "canadian history moment commercials" otherwise who the hell is sam steele??

I think that test was quite stupid actually, nobody needs to know 90 percent of those things, since im guessing most canadians would struggle with half of them.

    This question was my favourite:
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    4. Name six responsibilities of citizenship.
    a. Get a job, make money, raise a family, pay taxes, mow your lawn, vote.
    b. Vote, join a political party, get a job, obey the law, drive safely, pick up litter.
    c. Care for the environment, don't litter, pay taxes, obey the law, help others, respect others.
    d. Vote, help others, care for our heritage and environment, obey Canada's laws, respect the rights of others, eliminate injustice.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think the test should have a lot more socialization questions like (a) above. Not those in particular but along those lines, and a lot fewer of the "name some obscure dead guy who really didnt do much and is totally irrelevant today." Plus maybe a few survival questions:

    21. What is a toque?
    22. At what rate is Canadian Tire money earned?
    23. Can you use debit at Timmies?
    24. Would you rather have 100 Loonies, or 55 Twonies?
    25. Is Harry or William hotter?
    26. Do you need a jock to play shinny?
    27. If you are playing shinny and a car comes what do you have to do?

    ---------
    answers:
knitted winter hat, 3% on noncredit payments, not usually bring cash youre holding up the line, 55, harry, the goalie should at least, move the net off the road so he can pass.

You know...things all canadians should know.

17/20 - not a great compared to others here. I will have to be a better Canadian. Good luck on your test - don't forget to tell us how you did.
