Are you entranced by a male singing voice?

A baritone does it for me. We were just watching the 1955 movie Oklahoma on TV, and it made me think of this. Nothing to me is more sexy nor more masculine than a bass-baritone, I just melt. My husband is a bass, and he'll be performing next month at a private recital. He's 78, his voice still wonderful, and I wish I knew how to post vids here I have of him performing.

Whatever, here's Howard Keel in Showboat from 1951. Younger RJ members may know him as the patriarch in the Dallas TV series, which involved no singing. If his voice doesn't make you die, I don't know what's wrong with you. And he's not bad looking, either.

Looking like Southbitch jane is entranced with Art Deco, given that she replies and posts pics on 99.5 of Art Deco's threads.

Oh, have you noticed his sick, obsessive pattern? I suppose every site must have its deranged wacko, and he's ours. icon_confused.gif

Perhaps you can instruct me. Seriously, I would appreciate the advice & help. This one has plagued me for years, and putting him on Ignore does little good, because others quote him. And he still spreads his venom, whether I see it or not. Admin has suspended him a few times, but they let him back.

Not usually. BUT I see a lot of stage shows for work and, after this performance, I was ready to throw myself ontop of Teddy Tahu Rhodes:

I'm lucky to be old enough to have seen & heard some of the best singers around. Vic Damone is the one guy Sinatra said has "the best pipes in the business." I agree.

American baritone, died 1959. Probably best heard in his complete recordings of Aida or Il Trovatore (the early one, with Bjoerling). There's a selection of him at http://www.arkivmusic.com/classical/Drilldown?name_id1=15253&name_role1=2&bcorder=2&album_group=5 - and of the excerpts discs, the Naxos is the best.

Or see & hear him on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wiwYVL_GCU

I grew up on his recordings, inherited from my brother, wo the voice is stuck in my head!

Well, bringing this thread into the 21st century, despite all the various male singers currently out there, I must say, Seth MacFarlane definitely captured my attention recently...

Several of them, though not pop singers.

I have bought very few recordings, but actually did go so far as ordering a Thomas Hampson CD. Nice.

The Phantom of the Opera title song was in a friend's iTunes playlist and I was listening to it and the voice of the guy was so captivating. Here is a video of the song for those who don't know it. Skip to about the 1:00 mark

And I love pretty much anything by Sam Tsui. This is probably my favorite:

Edit: How do you embed videos? I do not see the option to do so.

Depending on if he's singing to me or not. If he's singing to me and means it, I don't care how he sings. Mutual feelings of course.

It also depends on what he's singing. Let's just say a couple of Taylor Swift's recent singles are probably not going to get you in bed anytime soon icon_smile.gif

Depends on the voice. Joel Madden makes me weak, and Tyson Ritter is amazing as well. Fallen in love with those voices. Don't care much for their appearances though, haha.

90% of the time I prefer female singing voices. There are however, a select few male singers whom I really like. I love the sound of their voice.

This is the best example. I am totally enamored by this band.

i wouldn't say entranced, but the singing (and speaking) voice of the first guy in this video/group is hot to me.
