Sharks! I'd feel so powerless in the water as I wouldnt' be able to swim as fast as they can in order to escape.

Once they bite you you're going to be seriously injured or missing limbs. I was just thinking of this today when I got up for some reason. How odd that this post be here.

mountain lions....i like cats (all species) but I often hike alone so when i hear stories of joggers and bikers being attacked here in Cali, i always get a little nervous when i am out hiking. i think last year this bike racer was eaten in san diego county and then the same cat attacked and ripped the face off of this woman who found his body.

Spiders, Waterbugs, and Ticks cuz they make my skin crawl just thinking about them;and this may sound silly but bigfoot and aliens.

The thought of some human like animal / monster that can pop up and snatch you into the woods creeps me out. Aliens becuz i value my personal space and every alien story deals with them violating you and you being nothing more than an object to them. Very creepy stuff.

Living down Under in Oz. We don't have all that much to worry about. We have a few of the worlds most venomous spiders and snakes, and White Pointers are known to hang at the same beach I do. But nothing that scares the shite out of me.

Rats disgust me, but no fear.

I love animals. Long to hang with some bears, in the woods, and not the bars.

Monkeys.

Sometimes I work with them (as an animal trainer). They're super smart and can do some amazing things as service animals. But they're incredibly strong for their size; they have sharp teeth and they can become over excited and aggressive in a heartbeat. Two years ago I got six stitches from a bite to the hand from a capuchin monkey; during my training I nearly had my hand crushed by an over-ambitious juvenile orangutan and two years ago I watched another 18 pound capuchin pick up a toilet, and throw it. I still work with them, but I'm alert every second.

OMG Same!! Flying cockroaches is scary ass and yes I scream like a girl too when I encounter them..and then run out of the room like a maniac.

I'm afraid of bees and their buzzing too..more like a phobia..ever since i've been swarmed by bees during a compass orienteering exercise when I attended the military school...had to jump into the nearest creek...thank gawd there was even a creek there seeing as our platoon were kinda lost..

Those big fuckin pet store rabbits scare the shit out of me! Not the little, natural bunnies that hop around outside. But I can't even walk past those fuckin mutant rabbits that are in pet stores. Every other animal in there is fine by me...matter of fact I love all off the "creepy-crawlies" but I am definitely not a fan of those monsters.

I would have posted a picture, but I am literally getting chills down my spine searching for one. Maybe something happened to me involving rabbits and I've suppressed it in my memory. Lol.

I dive warm waters and wear a 1mil shortie wet suit, so I have a lot of exposed skin. Sharks, Moray Eels and Barracudas don't alarm me although I'm cautious with them. It's those damn jellyfish that alarm me. I never panic but on one dive I noticed that after the dive I only had 300 pounds of air left. I rarely go through it so fast but an encounter with a huge school of jellyfish got me using it up fast.
Still, the most dangerous situations I've encountered diving has been the water itself, those currents can be killers.

Birds.... yeah sounds stupid... but the texture of a feather makes my skin crawl a 1,000 times and the beating of the wings sends shivers down my spine... imagine my horror when i had to take overseas relatives to Trafalgar Square ..... just short of a major panic attack and quick thinking got me out of the centre of the square on some stupid pretext of needing batteries for my camera and then waiting until they got bored....

have never worked out where this has come from... but believe me i even freak out when i dream of them... and we are talking from budgerigars to birds of prey..... i was more scared of vultures on safari than the lions, cheetahs, hippos and crocs... which are more dangerous

http://www.thetravelalmanac.com/lists/animal-phobias.htm

but according to this list they rank 4th so maybe i'm not so weird after all

I can testify that these wild pigs are MEAN as hell...but they are chicken too.

I was out at one of my favorite spots (down by the river) a week or so ago and it was at dusk. Out walking around with only my gym shorts on...this time....I could hear some pig like noise, grunting and stuff in the bushes and they were drinking from stagnate pool of water....I knew that these were the famed Javelinas.

I decided to get cute and I picked up a BIG STICk and ROCK. I then tossed the rock into the bushes and WOW...did I hear screams and noises like never before...LOL....these nasty creatures got completely freaked out and scattered like crybabies. I figured on meeting one face to face and sure enough he came right at me. So I ran right towards him with my big stick swinging and hit him on the head. He stumbled to the ground and bolted off like a big fried ham!

That's all they are good for really. Christmas Ham. They are good....LOL

omfg.

i have friends from dehli who say there are monkey gangs IN the city. they were attacked once. the monkies started screaming, and throwing trash at them and chased them till they got to a busy street.

i was attacked by a monkey at the SF zoo when i was 4. I'd climbed up and between two large cages to get a closer look while my mom was distracted with my brother. i'll never forget it. a monkey ran up to me, grabbed my arm and squeezed it while screaming maniacally. i had black and green and purple bruises for weeks after.

they are unnerving. they are so intelligent and yet, totally insane. your story is chilling. i could never do what you do.

Sharks and ticks; the first due to Jaws and a developed fear of bodies of water that I don't have control over and the second due to the horror of the unseen invasive.

Cockroaches disgust me if they catch me off-guard; otherwise, I think I'm able adjust to the situation.

In most situations though, I tend to temper whatever fears I have by visualizing having to kill the "other" creature (such as going over distraction tactics and potential weaknesses, and going full-on, including Tysoning it wherever and however the situation requires).
