Summer Check-List

One of my summer goals was to train up until I could do a certain road loop, which includes a monstrous climb, on my road bike (lowest gear 42/22). The huge climb then allows almost 30 miles of descent or riding level with the wind.
Well, I've just finished it. It wasn't even that hard on the legs - the challenge was to avoid over heating. And the final 1000-foot descent rocked, because I was just too tired to be scared on the switchbacks.

So how are your summer goals coming? What's finished and what's left to do? There's not much time left!

OK, I've got the bike loop checked off, so the next item... three-way with hunky twins...

I'm doing really well on my weight loss goal. My goal is 180 by the end of September, and today I weighed-in at 183. That's up from 181 last week. Unfortunately, the Strong and Lean workout is on hold. Overtime at work has gone crazy, so I'm just doing a maintenance routine. I need to focus on eating right and sleeping right until work gets back to normal.

weight gain goal of 185. I'm almost there, currently at 183 ish. Also finish off my law school applications again since i took an extra year. That one is taking some time, but I know I can do it. I always do somehow. And last but not least, find a man! Summer love isn't summer love without summer, or the man. Tick tock.

My nephew is finally in College in Boston.

No one in my family has killed anyone.

Had a beautiful Summer at the Lake.

Had a hot dog and an IC cone on the 4th.

    Lost 4#.

Kept my sanity. OK, OK - So five out of six isn't bad.

I've managed to lose a lot of bodyfat, and gain a lot more muscle this year, so I'm happy with my progress.

I would like to have had 6 pack abs by now, but alas... That's okay though. It'll happen soon enough :)

I quite smoking. So far, 8+ weeks, no intention of restarting. I upped my gym efforts, especially the cardio. A lot of inspiration came as a result of finding this site.

You go McGay, probably the best thing you could've done for yourself.

I finished the strong and lean program on schedule. That's pretty good for me, considering I've never been able to stick to an exercise program for that long before.

Will power, you are finally my bitch.

OK, so I guess I'm gonna bite the bullet, set the alarm early for labor day morning, and start laying tile in the basement. I cut the edge pieces for the guest suite back in February!

Summer has been GREAT! Makes me anticipate the big 30 in spring even more!
So far my summer has brought me...
-Learned to lay wooden flooring. I was supposed to learn how to grout tile also, but I was out of town that weekend. :-(
    -Dropped 26lbs
-Brought my blood pressure down to an amount that doesn't make the technician taking it look at me in alarm, as well as making me capable of donating blood.

    * Just came back from a music camp, which was great.
    * Had my trip to Sweden where I saw where the four different branches of my family emigrated from in the 1880-1890's, and found living relatives.
    * Started the Strong & Lean workouts, and have lost 6 lbs. Have gotten back on track with the race walk training and finished a race in 90 degree heat and finished faster than I did this spring.
    * Bought a whole bunch of new clothes that are a size smaller than I was before.
    * Actually got to relax this August and am pretty ready mentally to meet the rush of students at the beginning of the academic year.
    * Started (sort of) dating, or at least getting out and meeting a lot of guys, and open to the possibility.
    * Got a lot more comfortable with being single, and understanding what I want. Doing the taking care of me thing.

Overall, pretty good. Now I just have to finish that professional certification.
