    Just a quick thought/rambling I guess.

On a lot of gay subreddits, sites, blogs, ect, ect I find it common for most men to post things like "My straight friend asked me if I'm attractive," or "Straights just don't understand [___]."

On the flip side, a lot of us gay men will get upset if people say "I love you gays" or "gays love shopping, right?"

The point I'm making is stereotyping. Not every gay guy is going to be shopping with his bff girlfrans, and not every straight dude is going to be playing in a sport (or doing anything that's typically labeled as "masculine.")

When we start putting labels on people things become complicated, and things don't change. After a while I think people believe these labels are true and have to start acting them to the tee.

Things would be so much better if we didn't think of each other as just gay, straight, black, white, asian, ect, ect - we're people. You know, like we're all in this together?

    This...

    Stereotyping is seen everywhere.
Best thing to do for now is to ignore them!
If we ignore these, the speaker who stereotypes people will also get bored and stops all together, one day!

In my view, we speak because we want someone to listen to us...& when the time comes where no one listens to us or stops paying attention to us, all we can do is either stop talking or change the topic!

Is it the labels that are bad? Or how people decide to interpret them?

For example; I'm monogamous and so's Bill. That's a label if ever there was one. Some celebrate this, some sneer at it. icon_wink.gif

Good point! I think it's maybe how people interpret it. ;)
