    Theophoric names are names that include the name of god, in hebrew EL is one the names of the god and so is YO [JO in english]
    daniel = god is my judge
    gabriel= god is strong [gever in hebrew is ''a man'' [and rooster in a very old hebrew lol] so here it means strong
    ariel= lion of god
    michael = mi -ka -el in hebrew there is no one like god[its a question who is like god?]
    the same for YO [in english somtimes it became JO]

    Jonathan = god has given
    jhon= un hebrew its yohanan [like the baptist] god had forgiven given me

    Joel= god god ;)

    hope it was intresting ;0

    fixed

    My first name not so much. Jews generally name their kids with at least the first letter represented to honor a deceased ancestor. But both my parents' surnames are named after tribes of Israel; so not directly theophoric, but close enough.

    Grisha (Gregory), not be confused with GIRISHA गिरीश (Hindi, Sanskrit):Means "lord of the mountain" in Sanskrit. This is a name of the Hindu god Shiva, given because of his abode in the Himalayan Mountains.

    Nope, my first given name is not theophoric. It originates in Syriac.

    One of my middle names is, though.
