Yup, kind of pissed that subways have been taken out of the game. How can you have a real metropolis without a subway??
I'm sure I'll get addicted to it nonetheless.

I have it, and I'm sadly going to recommend that you stay away. At least for a couple of weeks. Because the game can only be played online and the servers are currently in terrible shape, it's been very difficult to play it. Lots and lots of frustration. Wait until the issues have been ironed out before you try it.

When you can get in to play, the game's satisfying.

I won't be getting this game. All this DRM crap only punishes the people who actually pay.

Anyone else curious about the name of the game. Wasn't there already a simcity? I know it's the same company (maxis) but they couldn't think of a more original title? Perhaps the original was Sim City, with a space...

I'm not complaining, I'm more curious about the legalities of titling something the exact same way a previous product was titled.

^^^ if this doesn't point out how random and silly my thinking is... I don't know what else could.

EA is one of the worst gaming companies that I will never support from here on out. Sim City4 is also on it's way to becoming one of the worst rated products on Amazon!

EDIT: I think Amazon is actually pulling it. icon_eek.gif

Apparently EA is planning on releasing subways and larger city capabilities in future expansion packs. These were fundamental tenets of the franchise. SimCity was above all else a transportation simulator, and now they've eliminated a fundamental means of transit.

This, coupled with the DRM bullshit, makes me wonder if EA is trying to deliberately kill the franchise. They already stepped on their dick once with SimCity Societies, and now this?

I played SimCity 4 today... I made a city, and it was doing fairly well. I made a new zone for residents, because there was demand, but no one wanted to move in for a while! and then I never was making enough money and I went bankrupt fast :/ I have't played in a while... Can't understand a lot of things in that game.

I abhor EA. They are ruining the gaming universe one franchise and developer-takeover at a time.

Soon they will say, "All your games are belong to us!".

    It's only a matter of time... icon_cry.gif

I'm so disappointed to hear the real details about this game. It looks like they thought they would bring the "social" aspect of Facebook games to it. In reality, people want something they can play by themselves, and not be forced to play online, and to give people only a small plot of land to build their city is ridiculous, when people probably thought they would be able to build a large expansive metropolis. icon_neutral.gif

I'm still playing SC4 Rush Hour after all these years. It's really too bad EA didn't go with what's been working for 20 years and stick with it. The DRM and small cities ensure that if I ever decide to get it, I will not be paying for it.

I was so excited for a new SimCity game last year when info about this first was released.

Now, I've lost a lot of my excitement for the game.

I don't like the idea of forced multiplayer, and the fact that other players can influence for city or grief you just to be dicks. Even if you can find some small nook away from other players, I don't like the always on internet connection. I'm always having latency issues with Diablo 3 and I wonder if this would be similar, especially when cities get full.

Also don't like the fact that the cities are so limited in size this time around.

I'll probably pick it up, but will wait until the end of the year when it go on sale during the holidays. Hopefully the bugs will be squashed by then.
