They couldn't do it. The anasthesiologist said my blood glucose was too high (307).

I agonized over having this surgery, but in the end I knew it was for the best. So as you can imagine I was extremely annoyed. They refused to administer insulin beforehand even though I begged them to. Six units would have brought my glucose down to around 100, aka perfect glucose number. They said it was just too dangerous. Thankfully, the pre-surgery antiobotics seem to be doing a good job of closing the ulcer, making the surgery I would've had into one with a much shorter healing time.
