How cute is James Franco. He's smart, he's funny, he's talented, he's a gay activist.

    What more could you want!!!!!

The truth lol. That's the Hollywood publicist version of who James Franco is. I don't know him but something about him rubs me the wrong way. He comes across as a bit of an ass in his interviews but maybe I'm just jealous icon_lol.gif

His face looks like it got into a fight with bong, he isn't particularly smart (his degress, it is argued, have been handed to him. His family is full of academics, but he isn't one of them), he isn't funny (seriously. not. funny.). Is he talented? Sure, but even a comatose man has talent.

Difficult to know if the ban was because it's gay, or because it's too sexually explicit, with graphic scenes unacceptable even in a comparable straight movie intended for theatrical release. The article says a previous year's film entry on beastiality was not banned, but what did that film actually show?

Was this gay film banned for pornography, or for being gay? And arguing that other films not banned are extremely violent is an old argument that is not proof that the gay theme was the problem, but rather revisits the preexisting disparity between approving graphic violence but not graphic sex of any orientation. Not enough info (or clips) in this article to know the real reason for the board's action.

To be fair "Donkey Love" was a legitimate documentary, as opposed to "I Want Your Love", which is an erotic/pornographic film. (I've seen the former, and excerpts of the latter.)

I'm not really a fan of censorship; but the decision was not completely without merit.

I lost all respect for Franco after I saw him in "Annapolis." Watching that film with my sister was one of the most painful yet hilarious experiences in my life.

it's messed up how he got that nyu professor fired for doing his job. icon_sad.gif only thing i disagree with the professor with is for giving him a d- when he should have gave him a F for attendance.
