    Hey everybody!

So I graduate in a few months from FSU and there is always the question of what next? Well I've been thinking of moving( been in Tallahassee now for four years) so just kind of a general question of what cities are solid to move too for a recent gay graduate looking for secure jobs(possible this has been asked before)? Advice from all is greatly considered in all forms here or email! icon_biggrin.gif

i wouldnt recommend moving to a city just for its gay scene, thats really risky unless you have a job already set up.

Not focusing on gay scene more job opportunities I'm not big on gay scenes anyways I typically am too busy. I have lived in small cities kind of curious on the major cities where relocating is good job and living wise

Well my degree is in history and in philosophy I do want to go to Law school but I really need some time away from school at the moment. Everyone says teach but that is a back up plan at the moment. I am basically open to anything that doesn't involve serving food.

Minneapolis, D.C., Austin and Columbus are good cities with reasonable unemployment numbers. What else do you want in a city?

Boise. One of my favourite cities. Cheap. Scenic. And there is a cute gay scene.

    LMAOO

but anywayyyyy, my favorite city is probably DC.
take in the cost of living into consideration! $5,000 in one city doenst translate into $5,000 in another.

Hate to be the mean guy but you will be limited in what you can apply that major with in most states. If you want to teach many states have certification requirements.

Honestly the market for teaching jobs in the Northeast or other desirable locations is tight right now unless you are math, language ELL, or science. You might be better off trying for a part time substitute job.

More honesty - serving food or becoming a bartender might be the easiest way to make quick money and survive in a popular city you enjoy. City living is expensive if you want to live in a nice safe area. Serving will let you potentially earn money by working less than trying to survive in retail. More time to enjoy whatever city you end up in.
