I leave work at 5PM. I get home around 5:45PM. I want to work out when I get home but am finding it hard to do. I am always tired and have no energy when I get there. Is there something that I should eat or drink say an hour to a half an hour before I leave work that will give me the energy I need for a good workout? Should I drink a protein drink mixed with Creatine? I have Micronized creatine powder that I could mix with it. What do you guys think?

Are you avoiding caffeine, or is that an option?

You should probably try to eat at least a small meal, including some protein, before your work out.

I am not avoiding caffeine. The only caffeine I have is in the morning. I have two cups of coffee to get me going. The rest of the day I drink water. I have kashi cereal for breakfast, kashi chey bar and some nuts for snack, A sandwich with ham or turkey or a salad with both in it for lunch, an apple and some nut for snack, and a litle later some pretzels, and then I leave to go home and work out.

what exactly are you doing on your breaks. ie lunch, coffee breaks.

perhaps integrate some fitness during your work day. perhaps yoga? a brisk walk. get into a park and do some chinups whatever. start your day with 15 or 20 minutes as well.

It sounds like to me the stress relief is kicking in after work. your body needs a chance to recoop- it just says after a busy day i want some down time.

remember you are training your body to respond to you.

as far as eating is concerned there's tons of ideas as to what and when.

to the man who posted this thankyou.

george have some fun too! you rock bud

Keep on the creatine but add an energy bar such as "Power Bar Performance" before your workout.

I usually have breakfast before going to the gym. I do my workout then eat one energy bar after my workout before I go running. After running, I eat a piece of fruit and then the protein drink.

    Keep up the good work.
