After responding to "The Wristband Diary" it got me thinking. It's not to say that the OP is afraid to say he is gay (I don't know his story) but he only refers to himself as "not straight". I've known someone before who could never say he was "gay". Despite others knowing, the word could not leave his mouth. My friend recently dealt with a guy who would get visibly upset and even angry if someone called him gay or said that he was (because he actually is). Have you ever known anyone like this? How long after realizing you were gay were you able to actually say it and be comfortable with it?

I sometimes say I'm homosexual just to be annoying to people who "want a gay friend" Usually gets rid of them quick smart.
I generally say I'm gay its easier off the tongue.

I cant remember how long it took me to say Im gay when I came out in the olden days, in fact it was so long ago and in such a remote and isolated place I may have said I was queer for the first year or so

Sounds like he's still in the process of accepting himself. It took me awhile to say it too, but once I did and came to accept who I am, than wasn't an issue. I'm gay! See I said it. icon_smile.gif

Meh. I still find it weird. Maybe its because when I think "gay" I think of the stereotypes how I don;t want to be judged : /
