"Weekend." It's very realistic and has an almost documentary-ish feeling to it. My favorite.

My second really isn't an LGBT film, but it does deal with a gay prostitute. It's called "Mysterious Skin." Very disturbing and dark, but worth a watch!

    Clapham Junction

Centers on the experiences of several gay men during a 36 hour period in the Clapham area of London and the consequences when their lives collide.

    Brilliant, Dark, Multi-Layered.

Shelter, definitely. Not only about dealing with being gay but also child raising and family troubles.

Latter Days is a close second

    This made me LOL

I'm going to watch Beautiful Thing pretty soon.

I like Prayers for Bobby, Latter Days, and Shelter. Redwood was ok. I'm hoping Beautiful Thing is as good as I hope. Shortbus was recommended to me but it was incredibly strange. I wouldn't recommend that on unless you are into strange and bizarre.

This is pretty subjective. The best movies are the ones that speak directly to the viewer, and for me, it would be Latter Days - basically, my life story.
