..with Gael Garcia Bernal (he was in the film, not with me) and it was BRILLIANT! Absolutely stunning film. Anyone else seen it? This is a contender for film of the year for me.

My boyfriend teaches Spanish Literature and Film, and he's always dragging me to some crazy foreign films. But I have to say that "No" was fantastic. A lot of subtle humor, which I love. I was disappointed it didn't win the Oscar, but then I didn't see any of the other nominated films so I can't compare it.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread, but another great movie my boyfriend made me watch was Chinese Takeaway. You should check it out.

I saw it last night and it didn't live up to my expectations. I had a choice between 'No' and 'Amour', and I chose this (it is my foreign movie weekend). It was interesting but mostly flat- no peaks that get your blood rushing and make the cinematic experience an unforgettable one.

The positives are the inspired cinematography and Gael. Otherwise, it was just above-average.
