So I've just about decided I'm a jinx against my beloved Red Sox. The most recent examples.

I missed the entire series against the White Sox and they CRUSHED them.

I watch every game against the Yankees and well, let's not talk about it. I watch the first game against Baltimore and they go down again.

Then yesterday, they play the Orioles and Buchholz (who is drool-worthy in my book - http://redsox.scout.com/2/674951.html) serves up a no-hitter. What the HELL!!!

So wondering, anyone else have some good superstitions.

Yes, if I like someone, they are almost inevitably "taken."

In the 2005-06 hockey season, when the Edmonton Oilers made a run for the cup, I only saw games that they lost. Sure, it was probably just bad timing, but once you get into double-digits with the statistics, you can begin to see yourself as a jinx.

Once they were in the final, I stopped watching altogether. But then I couldn't resist watching game seven, and stupid Carolina won. Now I wonder what would have happened if I had just turned away.

GAH!!! I did it again. I watched last night and the lost! Someone stop me before I do it again!

In other news, I was LMAO this morning watching the news. They brought up superstitions of pro football players and one in particular who needs to be slapped in the face before every game! No joke! Wish I could find the video of it.

    Sorry Gigaram -

We of Red Sox Nation have taken a vote.

Unfortunately we are going to have to ask you to pleasse, please refrain from listening to, watching, gamecasting, electronically accessing, or attending any further Red Sox games this season.

Given the position of the team this year, and their chances for a penant and a title, we are sure you will agree and co-operate in this simple request.

We have come to the conclusion after extensive research that your looking up the score and play by play news AFTER THE GAME IS FINISHED should not affect our teams hopes.

Thank you for your cooperation and attention to this important matter.

    Sincerely,

    Box Seasons Ticket Holder

Rest assured, ITJock, I will content myself with just the "Breakfast with the Redsox" the day after.

And fortunately, I was also dissuaded from trying to attend one of the upcoming games against the Yankees at Fenway by the price.

I sniff at your season ticket holding self!

    You sniff at me?

    SNIFF?

The sublime scent by the way is 'ea de wiseass'.

    Thank you for noticing.

It took me a long time to aquire it.

ITJock, I hope you appreciate what I did for the team last night! Another good one - at least that's what I'm READING.
