Sunday, March 10, from 11 to 7, at the War Memorial Auditorium and Holiday Park, North Federal Highway. Live entertainment, lots of vendor booths. My partner & I are staffing an outdoor booth for the SMART Ride, next to the Pride Center booth.

We have an early Pride here instead of the traditional June date because of the hot summer weather. But there's still a smaller 1-day Stonewall Pride in Wilton Manors in June with a parade, which always gets rain.

No rain for us today, though, and temps with be lower 70s, very nice. Drop by if you're in this area. icon_biggrin.gif

HAH! Actually I did buy a wallet at Pride Fest, from the same vendor who always attends, from whom I've bought before. She sells extra-thin wallets ("Big Skinny" brand), for guys like me who don't carry much. So an hour ago at home I transferred from my old wallet, and here's what it was:

    - driver's license
    - bank card
    - VA medical card
    - Medicare card
    - gay card
    - a few dollar bills

And that's it, guys. I'm very minimalist, I carry only the essentials. I bought a separate business card holder from her, too, for my SMART Ride cards that I pass out to potential donors who might contribute on my behalf.

    Yep, and here it is:

I think somebody here may have borrowed and posted this pic the other day, from an earlier thread of mine. As I said, I only carry the essentials in my wallet. I'll show it to Paul and Anocxu if I see them tomorrow night.

gay card. Not having a go, but one just can not stop icon_lol.gif But then I am a Bona Fide Homosexual, and we have no need for such a thing, as we always have beenicon_wink.gif A bit like being born an American and not needing a Green Card.

Too bad, it also means you didn't get your free gift, either. Here in the States toasters & blenders are very popular.

It's a joke, genius. Yeah, you're definitely a bona fide SOMETHING alright. icon_rolleyes.gif

That's the mythical gay card, that guys allegedly forfeit when they don't know some bit of "mandatory" gay history or customs. Except when that situation arises I can actually produce the gay card pictured from my wallet, which always gets a laugh.

Absolutely one is a Bona Fide homosexual, and never been anything else, as many of us are. No matter what they did to me as a wee child in the 1960s, for declaring I was a homosexual before I was a teenager; no I would not even hid behind a female to stop the abuse or too be safe, they did what they did and I dug my feet in even more, and would not stand down; as I do now. Once agin not having a go, but I truly understand why you would not understand where one comes from since you lived most of your long life as a straight married breeding male, doing whatever work it was you did for employment; but thats what makes us half brothers, and you bi/gay, and I, a Bona Fide Homosexual; yes I am True Blue.

You know gay is such a generic term nowadays were many diffrent communities are shoved under the one banner of gay, and I'm fine with that. I just stand under the private members banner of us Bona Fide Homosexuals, a men's club for us homosexuals who have never ever done the nasty with women because we were not born that way; it's really that simple. I don't want to erase my past, by one day being seen as straight and the next..... I embrace it, as I do not look back with shame, and an others baggage is not mine to carry. But it seems there are those growen ups who did not have the balls of a man, as I had, as a wee child, and they can't take that away from me, no they just can't do thaticon_wink.gif Because I have had a pride from a young age, that you will never know.

Anyhow your toasters and blenders would not work down here without adapter, but since you have never been to Oz, one can also understand why you would not know that either. But not long got back from another trip to the USA and was able to take advantage of it all being so bloody cheap over there, that we had days of shop until you drop; even got some more new real estate, so thanks but I don't feel like I missed out, and I'm also sure you have the ability to make others laugh all the time too, just as you made many cry too. Now anyhow have a great day mate, as I will. The pot of coffee is ready.

You know unlike you, I well recall the days when such a sense of a gay card was not a joking matter. It was about us homosexuals, who were not in hiding, and got on living our lives, and loving, and being loved, no matter how much our family's rejected us, or society looked down on us.

But by the time you decided to make the lifestyle change you did in middle age, to stop living as a married staright family man, and took a boyfriend, so much of the ground work had been done for you, by those of us before you, and I am one of them.icon_wink.gif

But then there is also another club you will never be able to belong to either, no matter your action now. Thats of us homosexuals, and Bisexuals who were having same sex relations in the 1970s, when so many were unwittingly infected with the HIV Virus. That are today 50+ and HIV-.
