Well, A-Rod's been a Yankee for some time now, and it's not like he hasn't contributed. He's a talented guy. However, he seems like one of those big-talent-small-character dudes. Now he's on the wane in more ways than one. This is the time he should be managing his career to become a Yankee elder stateman, so to speak. Instead ... not so much. I also think for some reason he and Jeter are thought of together as a subset of the Yankees. A-Rod suffers by comparison to the timeless athlete and good human being that Derek Jeter seems to be.
As far as the game and the Yankees, he's a total tool. He's not and never has been a team player. He's out for his own glory, always, not for the sport nor for the team. He's a George Steinbrenner like relic amidst quality contributors like Jeter, Cano, Rivera and the other members of the TEAM.
