I hate DST. I'm used to waking up with the sun, and then when it sets I've got a few hours before I have to go to bed.

Now I wake up before the sun (not a fan) and I feel like when the sun sets, I have to go to bed sooner rather than later.

plus I lost an hour of sleep last night. GAH!

I agree! I hate this stupid Spring forward, Fall back shit. It serves no purpose whatsoever other than screwing up everyone's biorhythms. I'm back to riding to work in pitch dark for the next 3 or 4 weeks now.

The farmers don't care because the cows and chickens can't tell time!

And parts of the US don't even use it!

My suggestion: This Fall set the clocks back 1/2 hour and then LEAVE IT THE F**K ALONE!

I absolutely enjoy DST, I think it should remain this way the whole year.
Love the late summer evenings and the switch means summer is on its way!

That said, the "change" from Standard to Daylight and vice versa is kind of a pain. For the next month or so, it will be harder to get up in the morning, but I'll enjoy the evening payoff....

Things change with the sun very quickly. We are adding about 3 minutes of sunlight per day now. By May it will be light at 6:00 a.m.

RJT implies endless delays because one spends too much time online, reading and replying to posts, not to mention lusting for others.

Doesn't really effect me. Another cup of coffee helps. Go to bed earlier the night before. Just please don't bitch about it.

Meh, gives me an excuse to go earlier to bed, but at least I don't have to switch to DST before in 2 week.

I am in the 'tweek it and keep it' crowd. Here is an interesting article on why it wont happen. (spoiler alert: comes down to money) icon_confused.gif

This. I hate it when the time changes in the fall - means winter is just around the bend. Glad that DST is back on the job! icon_cool.gif

I just flew to Canada and was jetlagged. Daylight savings time moved in my favour so for the first time ever (and I assume the last) I was happy to see it come last night.

I've always wondered what it would take to get rid of DST on an election ballot. Does anyone know this process?

Great idea and nice effort. However, only 58 signatures since March 2nd and they need 100,000 by April 1st? I think the major block here is that folks need to create an account with whitehouse.gov in order to sign the petition. I haven't checked into the privacy policy of whitehouse.gov, and methiinks I don't want to join, regardless.

I hate fall back because you loose an hour of daylight time. I'd rather wake up while it's still dark and there still be daylight an hour longer in the evening. The way it is set up now, in the winter you get up in the dark and head home after work in the dark. Also, it is not condusive in today's society, every one knows the crime rate goes up after dark.

It's already 1pm. Damn, I hate losing a chunk of my Sunday due to the Spring forward. At least I didn't have to be up early anywhere.

I hate the fall back - it's so depressing when it gets dark by 6 PM. I love this time of year where the sun stays out til 8. The lost hour does suck though.
