First, regarding hotel, I've narrowed it down to:

    - Hotel FIve- 2200 5th avenue
    - Red Lion Hotel- 1415 5th avenue
    - Hotel Max- 620 Stewart street
    - Executive Hotel Pacific- 400 spring street

Main concern is location- wanna be in the middle of it all.

Also, im considering taking a ferry and spend two nights in Victoria/Vancouver (monday- wednesday). Is that overkill, or can i get a good taste of both places with that schedule? Id be 3 days seattle; 3 days v/v; 2 back in seattle.

    Thanks!

I didn't get much out of Vancouver except I got a lot more attention in the gay bars than I'm used to. I was heavier then.

Everything is significantly more expensive there.

Sounds ok. If you base yourself from Vancouver while in Canada, you can do Victoria in a day trip. It's not really necessary to spend more than that there.

I'd say 5 days just hanging around Seattle is a lot, unless you have lots of specific things you want to do. You could take an extra day in Vancouver and go skiing up at Whistler.

Look up different neighborhoods to go exploring in Seattle....downtown area is pretty quiet and boring at night, even on the weekends. Vancouver is not NYC but it's definitely more alive at night in the downtown core than Seattle. I personally think it's more explorable on foot than Seattle.

Downtown really isn't that big but anywhere on 5th is fine. My friend stayed at the W hotel and loved it. You can walk to pretty much anything from there.

I stayed at the Sheraton downtown and it was great. That part of Seattle is relatively small and I could walk everywhere, from Capitol Hill, down to the Market. Liked Seattle. The weather gods were good while we were there and it was sunny. Have a great time.

Oh, and be sure to try Sullivan's. Best dining experience of my entire life.

Everything is within walking distance except spaceneedle are (which is ok) but capital hill -gay district is not really downtown. Fyi. You can always get a cab from the bars though. Ps...you can take the train from the airport to downtown for very cheap. About a 25min ride usually and great views along the way.

No. Options are car/train/bus. You can take a ferry (the Clipper) to Victoria from Seattle, but not to Vancouver.

Vancouver's about 2.5 hrs driving from Seattle if you get through the border in a reasonable time.
