I use Singer's Saving Grace, it's an all natural throat spray available at most health food / supplement shops. ( tastes nasty but it works immediately )
Also try mint or ginger tea with honey, and/or gargle with warm salt water.

    Get well soon!

I like Luderns throat lozenges ... they are probably not organic, but they taste good ... otherwise, try some hot onion soup

Honey, straight up. Calms and soothes your throat.

But next time, don't swallow, just spit icon_lol.gif

Gargle WARM water and salt (not hot, not cold, just warm). This helps relieve the soreness instantly, especially if it isn't horribly bad.

Buy lozenges, they're kind of like an anesthetic and numb your throat, I used to take those then eat a bit so it wouldn't hurt as much.

Swallow a spoonful of honey, it coats the throat and also provides curative properties and immediate relief.

There's this one 'natural flu shot' recipe that I used to know completely by heart, but now I just do whatever bits of it I can remember, which are: about 4 oz. of water, 1/4 cup of lime juice, half a spoon of garlic paste (or crushed but pasted is better so it's not as distasteful), 2 spoons of honey, mix, and enjoy (as much as you can). Do this one 4x a day or as often as you can because it helps boost your immune system.

Trust me, I have had a sore throat about 4x this winter, worst winter ever health-wise, I would know. (No I do not suck dick every week or month so don't assume that's where my sore throat comes from lol)

Thanks guys for the help, I see a lot of honey on here so I will try that first, and will work my way down the list.

    thank you, thank you.

btw, I heard it's unclassy to spit.

    haha, just kidding. ;)
I actually think I got it from sleeping naked with the ac blowing directly under me, with paper thin sheets.

Nothing will heal your throat quicker than frequent salt water gargles.

1/4 tsp of sea salt to 1 cup of warm (not hot) water is about perfect. Don't be tempted to make the solution stronger, thinking it will work better, as that is not the case. The proper ratio is important as it will neutralize the acid in the throat and bring your PH levels back to normal. This in turn will reduce swelling and allow it to heal faster.

For quick relief....a shot of honey in the mouth works immediately. I just hold it in my mouth and let it slowly flow down the back of my throat. Another quick fix is to buy natural fruit popsicles. Suck on them slowly and the combination of the sugary fruit and coldness will temporarily numb the nerve endings in your throat. Welches makes a good all-fruit popsicle, or you can make your own from straight fruit juice.

A quick non-natural remedy that works fast is Phenol. Most of the throat sprays use this drug and it numbs the throat within seconds. My favorite non-natural remedy is Mucinex Liquid. This thins the mucus so it can leave your body faster. Most likely, it's the mucus dripping down the back of your throat that's giving you the sore throat. Stop the mucus....stop the sore throat. Mucinex also makes a liquid version that contains Tylenol and a cough suppresent, which is really nice for bedtime. Hope this helps and I hope you feel better soon.

My 2 recommendations. Gargle with salt and water first, then sit back and drink green tea with lemon and honey.

Yes, but only "Cold Eze" has been proven to be effective. Don't get any other brand.

Avgolemono--a Greek chicken soup with rice and lemon. Sip slowly. Delicious!

Bachelor version: Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup with a lemon squeezed into it. Damn good. Easy. Does not require a Greek grandma in residence.

Fisherman's Friends. If you like black licorice they will be strong but bearable. If not, sorry but they work. You can get at most drugstores, do not get menthol, get original. Black licorice is a moisturizer for the throat and vocal cords. Singers are addicted to these, cause they work. Honey, lemon, pineapple juice and whiskey will help too. Most things are cough not throat drops. Note the difference.

rum, lemon, and honey in equal amount mixed. At first your nasal passage will open up as well as clear your throat. Guarantee to get the mucus out the next morning you wake up from sleep

Roma Tomatoes and Salt, LOTS of salt.

Take about 3-4 tomatoes, take a bite out of it like you would an apple, pour about a sprinkle of salt into it, take another bite, more salt, another bite, etc. Each tomato should be about 3-4 bites.

The idea is to get the salt to coat your throat; it will then dry out the mucus and reduce the swelling.
