Read or yourself:

A Church of England clergyman has said that homosexuals should be tattooed with health warnings similar to those seen on cigarette packets.

Rev Mr Mullen reportedly said in an internet blog homosexuality was "clearly unnatural" and was the "cause of fatal disease"

The Rev Dr Peter Mullen, who is rector of St Michael’s Cornhill and St Sepulchre without Newgate in the City, said in an internet blog that homosexuality was "clearly unnatural, a perversion and corruption of natural instincts and affections, and because it is a cause of fatal disease".

He wrote: "Let us make it obligatory for homosexuals to have their backsides tattooed with the slogan SODOMY CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR HEALTH and their chins with FELLATIO KILLS."

The Bishop of London, the Rt Rev Richard Chartres, said the posting, which has since been taken down, was "highly offensive". The Rev Mullen, 66, was told on Friday that he could face disciplinary action.

Peter Tatchell of gay rights group OutRage! said he should resign.

The rector, who has written for The Daily Telegraph, insisted that he meant no harm: "I wrote some satirical things on my blog and anybody with an ounce of sense of humour or any understanding of the tradition of English satire would immediately assume that they’re light-hearted jokes."

Mr Mullen is also listed as the chaplain to the London Stock Exchange. However, an LSE spokesman said it was a historical title. "There are no formal links between us and him in any way."

Ridiculous rubbish! Don't fire him make him work with us in SFO! Put him out into the "vineyard" and let him "labour" amongst us! That will help him get over his holier than thou attitude! One way to get over his bigotry is to work with the very ones he calls sinners! Hey if it was good enough for Christ and Mary Magdaline then it should be good for this self righteous, blow hard palmie! I hope he meets up with a bull dyke whole go the boxing distance with him. LOL

You are exactly correct.

And there you have it my fellow RJ'ers . . . . this current conservative mindset has morph'd itself into modern day Nazism.

I woud hardly call the Church of England a modern morphing of opinion. Look at the guy's age, he just let something out that's been there his whole life.

FWIW, I've had the unparalled opportunity in the last couple of months to interact with Church of Englanders who don't believe in divorce - then I ask them why they think their church was founded in the first place.

Since we start to die as soon as we are born, thats why we age. We don't have to worry that much, it's as silly as saying smoking kills. What if you don't smoke you don't die.

Tattoos would be a stretch but anal sex IS the most health hazardous form of sexual contact, whether it's between two guys or a guy and a girl.

http://www.talksexwithsue.com/analsex.htmlFirst - anatomy. At the lower end of the bowel, there are two distinct circular bands of muscles, sphincters, one is located about an 1 ½" above the other. These clamp down tight to prevent the passage of feces or gas. The mucous membrane lining of the rectum is not as heavy as the lining of the vagina, so it can tear quite easily and it does not heal as quickly as the vagina. Because feces, loaded with bacteria, are passing by, any tear is vulnerable to infection.

The vigorous thrusting that may occur during anal intercourse can tear the mucous membrane. This can develop into an anal abscess that can become infected. Also, if your partner has any of the sexually transmitted infections (STI's), then you could get infected through the tear. So we are talking about gonorrhea (treatable); venereal warts (treatable if external, difficult if up in the rectum); syphilis (treatable); herpes (treatment, no cure); yeast infection (treatable); and HIV and AIDS (treatment but no cure.) You do not want any of these STI's

And

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anal_sex
Wiki HEREAmong the diseases with which anal sex is associated are HIV, human papilloma virus (HPV) (which can increase risk for anal cancer) typhoid fever and various diseases associated with the infectious nature of fecal matter or sexual intercourse in general. Among these are: amoebiasis; chlamydia; cryptosporidiosis; E. coli infections; giardiasis; gonorrhea; hepatitis A; hepatitis B; hepatitis C; herpes simplex; human papillomavirus; Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (HHV-; lymphogranuloma venereum; pubic lice; salmonellosis; shigella; syphilis; tuberculosis.[
The high concentration of white blood cells around the rectum, together with the risk of cuts to the rectum and that one of the functions of the rectum is to absorb fluid, increases the risk of HIV transmission because the HIV retrovirus reproduces within the immune system's T-cells/CD4 cells. Use of condoms and other precautions are a medically recommended way to lessen risk of infections. Unprotected receptive anal sex is the most risky sexual behavior in terms of HIV transmission.

Sorry, Ryan but I'm not sure why you are on this site. You're always trying to make some spurious point about anal sex.

I certainly wouldn't be using Wikipedia (or wikiwonka) as a reliable source of information about sexual health.

excellent point...throughout history, many of the most inhumane acts, wars, tortures, atrocities, etc. have been in the name of "religion" or "God".

RyanReBoRn, there you go again with this g0y shit. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Retired) I can tell you with some authority since I worked in both the Microbiology and Virology Labs that this information you have given is very misleading. Many of the diseases that you have listed can be and are contracted through penis to vaginal sex and I do not see evidence of you out there warning straight people not to have sex without a condom. Also, several of the diseases you have listed are very debilitating during the infective phase. If you should ever be so unfortunate as to contract Shigella, Salmonella, E. coli or Giardia, which you can contract in an unclean restaurant or drinking water out of a mountain stream, you will be so sick that sex will be the last thing on your mind. Oh and BTW, I am not encouraging people to have unprotected sex, but you know, get real.

Yes, these behaviours and activities can be dangerous. But if precautions are taken and safe sex practiced, the problems are minimal. The solution is to educate, not label, the masses.

This rector needs to back to his rectory and think about this for a while.
