So I have been having random episodes of what feels like shortness of breath and faster heart rate... but when i get anyone to actually check my pulse, it's well within normal... it happened for a while about a year ago. Both points were high stress, but they also happened in the same season. other than the obvious advice (talk to my doctor, which is already happening) anyone have anything similar to it? panic attacks, allergies, me dying icon_neutral.gif ? noone i know seems to be able to describe a panic attack like that, and i cant imagine it being anything major since it's only showed up twice in my life and went away after going on and off for a few months... but still

A panic attack can indeed produce symptoms like yours; so can an asthma attack. Heart problems at your young age are rare, but not impossible, seen at times of extreme physical exertion.

Your doctor can give you an EEG that should catch any serious heart issues. Asthma & allergy screening can also be done. Asthma symptoms can worsen during stress.

Panic attacks are more problematic to diagnose during an office visit, but you may be asked if these episodes are linked by any shared situations & circumstances. For instance, when in crowded places, before making a public appearance or presentation, standing in a high space like a hotel atrium, etc.

Ask your doctor about these possibilities if he/she has not already checked for them.
