Looking to replace phones. One of the things I like about my iPhone is that I can easily slip it in my pocket. I like the idea of a larger display though, like with the Galaxy or Note. Just curious, with those of you that have larger phones, how do you carry your phone? Does it fit easily in your pocket or do you have to carry a, uhm, man purse? icon_lol.gif

The other option is a holster... somewhere in-between on that continuum.

I haven't used one of those since like 2003. icon_cool.gificon_wink.gif I might have to bite the bullet though I guess.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and never had a problem with putting it in my pocket...except when I tried to wear some fashionable slim-fitting jeans (which I never wear anymore anyways since my quads got too thick from squats). I mean they still fit but it was hard to retrieve out of my pants bc it was so tight.

If you wear regular jeans, then you'll be fine. It's much more comfortable and safer for your balls anyways. icon_wink.gif

Do you have any sort of case on the S3 or just carry it around bare?

I have the Samsung 4 with a jell case. It is thin enough even with the case to fit in my pocket. Usually put in on the table or bar when I'm out though to be more comfortable and see the screen.

I use an Otter case. It makes it heavier and thicker but like I said, it's a nonissue for the most part.

My iPhone 5 has a 4" screen, which is easily pocketable. I'm not sure I'd want anything much bigger. For heavier use I have a full-size iPad, and an iMac at home. And everything goes into the cloud, so I actually do very little entry work with the iPhone, it's just for convenient reference.

Whatever I put into one device goes into all the others within seconds. I still prefer to use a real keyboard, so I defer a lot of contact and calendar entries until I'm at my home desktop.

I have the Galaxy S3 and don't have any issues with carrying it in my pocket. But then again, I don't wear jeans or any other tight clothes. I prefer slim/light cases. I use the Belkin Sheer case. It's thin and light. The surface is smooth so it slides in/out of pocket pretty easy.

I think the main challenge to getting a bigger phone is one-handed operation. Unless you have big hands or long fingers, you won't be able to navigate the screen with just your thumb for certain things.

I have a Galaxy S3 with an Otterbox case so it's fairly bulky, but I don't have any issues carrying it in my jeans (that said, I don't wear skinny jeans - your mileage may vary). I do have a permanent mark on my jeans in the shape of my phone though it's not terribly noticeable (I hope).

It really shouldn't be an issue.
I can slip my tablet (7" Galaxy Tab) with its leather case in my back pocket.

My Galaxy S2, even in its Otterbox case, fits easily in any pocket. If I get an S4 next October, pocketability is very likely to be an issue. That's actually the only thing that would make me hesitate getting an S4, but considering that US Cellular doesn't carry a huge array of phones, my choice of 4G LTE phones will probably be quite limited.
