    I don't know if it's bad for you but I think it's disgusting. I wouldn't eat it.

Since I only eat it around St. Pat's Day and not every year for that matter, it can't be too bad for me.

Had it Friday at work and last might at home. Delicious.

Whether you think it's bad for you depends in your views about saturated fats and sodium. I like both. icon_biggrin.gif

Here in Ireland we don't really eat corned beef too much anymore and we call it Paddy's day - with a 'd' not a 't' icon_smile.gif but the important thing is to drink

If thecorned beef is really lean, it should be OK.

Cabbage -- depends on how it's fixed and what else is put into it. Sae with the corned beef.

I eat it once a year myself, maybe twice at the most. Give me grass-fed beef for the other 360+ days!!

The nitrates and sodium are terrible for you. If you eat it once a year it's ok.

The only time I ever eat it these days is at a friend's house on the Friday evening before Saint Patrick's Day. It isn't my all-time favorite meal, but it's always delicious the way he has it, with cabbage, potatoes, carrots, celery, gravy, and other vegetables. It's usually on the lean side. I suppose all the nitrates and preservatives in it aren't that great, but it's worth it. When I was growing up, my family had it once in awhile, too.
