Why do YOU post links to articles?

Some days it seems like half of RJ members work for The Huffington Post, creating threads with links to articles that already have thousands of reader comments.

Why? Are our opinions really that much more interesting? Do you think that we rely on RJ as our sole news source? Do you consider this an effective use of your time? Has it been proven to really effect change? Does it validate you, provide a public service or both? Not seeking a defense, just an explanation.

Gee whiz.. You get this excited about a link to an article???
What if you won the lottery?? You would probably have a heart attack..!!

.. So someone finds an article on the net that is interesting..and they decide to share.. If you think it's interesting... cool...!! and if ya don't move on to the next adult pic or thread..!!

My sole news sources are Weekend Update on SNL and RJ threads.

There are maybe too many articles linked. It only bugs me when a person will just post a link without giving details. I'm not goingt o click on a topic, and then another page in another window just to find out what I'm clicking on.

I learn a lot of new and interesting things from the links - but prefer a short intro to them. You're not compelled to read them, you know!

yourname2000 saidMetta has posted links to articles that have appeared on the news only weeks later. Conversely, Riddler's posts are always laughably biased, so I consider he dreck useless, but other guys post news links I find informative.
I feel accomplished when I post something before Metta.
You're on Reddit. So you're way ahead of the curve on current events.
